... get fitter, eat healthier, drink less, have fun with the kids... DAY 35

Get Fitter

Today saw my first day doing Tabata Training! It was hardcore but pretty awesome! 20 seconds of one exercise followed by 10 seconds rest, repeat for 4 minutes! Sounds ok but ... Squats, burpees, running, press ups and planks and my legs and shoulders are burning this afternoon! One of the trainers at my gym is holding training sessions Tuesday and Thursday mornings for 8 weeks. Just my cup of tea, I loved it ...

Note to self ... Remember fecking heart rate monitor for next Tabata Training Session!

Eat Healthier
  • Protein shake after training.
  • Toast with honey for Brekkie.
  • Croissant with chicken, cottages cheese, avocado and lettuce for lunch.
  • A couple of home made cookies for afternoon tea.
  • Steak, baked potato and corn on the cob for dinner.

Drink Less (Alcohol, More Water)
  • Some wine tonight! It's a public holiday tomorrow so I may treat myself to a wine induced lie in! Besides I'm not loosing weight abstaining a anyway!!!
  • 2 litres of water.

Have Fun With Kids

Archie's fun involve -
  • Eating.
  • Sleeping.
  • Playing.
  • Eating some books and throwing himself around on the cushions and giant caterpillar at the library.

Maisie's fun involved -
  • Swimming lessons (new term, new chums).
  • Pie for lunch.
  • Helping mummy and granny make a curry and cookies.
  • Movie time with mummy and granny.
  • A trip to the library for some new bedtime books.
  • A walk with Mummy and The Hound before bath time.

Maisie's favourite thing today ... Swimming lessons! Correct answer darling! I was expecting it to be movie time!

... get fitter, eat healthier, drink less, have fun with the kids... DAY 31, 32, 33, 34

I may not have written about day 31, 32, 33 or 34 but that doesn't mean I've not been getting fitter, eating healthier, (trying to) avoiding alcohol, drowning myself in water and squeezing in some fun with The Cherubs!

Get Fitter

  • Day 31 - I haven't said it out loud (on the blog) yet but my aim is to do the Kapiti Women's Triathlon in 3 weeks time (gulp). With that in mind I did a mini triathlon on Friday. All be it in the wrong order. The actual event is a 400m swim, 12km cycle and a 4km run. So I did an 8km cycle, a 4 km run and a sea swim! They were spaced out a wee bit but I did it! The hardest was the bike as I've not been on a bike for a while and my track was the hilly Queen Elizabeth Park! It took me a while to get used to the gears and I probably pushed the bike down more hills than up but I survived to tell the tale!
  • Day 32 - After day 31's events (and the rest of the week for that matter) I had a rest day! As crazy as it may seem this exercise business can actually be quite addictive! I am starting to get a bit twitchy on rest days but I know it's important to let my old bones recover!
  • Day 33 - Lovely Hubby and I took The Cherubs and The Hound for a 6.5km walk! Later on I biked to the beach, did a cheeky wee sea swim (prob about 600m) and biked home.
  • Day 34 - Back to work so I squeezed in a 4km run at the crack of dawn! I'm not a fast runner so I thought I would see how fast I could go if I pushed myself! The answer is ... NOT VERY FAST! How can I get these legs to go faster????

Eat Healthier

I've been trying to stick to my good eating behaviour. The nice weather and holiday mode mean I have succumbed to A ice cream, SOME chocolate and another few tit bits that I maybe should have avoided! Back to work this week so it should be easier to behave!

Drink Less (Alcohol, More Water)

  • Some bubbles and white wine at the weekend!!! (The less said about that the better)
  • I've had a minimum of 2 litres of water per day.

Have Fun With The Kids

  • Day 31 - Paddling pool fun in the back garden.
  • Day 32 - We went to visit our chums who were camping up the road. The Cherubs had fun out in the fresh air and down playing at the river.
  • Day 33 - As mentioned a nice big walk in the fresh air then of to the park with Granny and Grandad for a train ride! Followed by more paddling pool fun!
  • Day 34 - Back to work, back to Daycare. Everyone was way too tired for any fun!

P.s I have weighed myself but not change! I am not amused but I am putting it down to muscle! I'll do my measurements again next week!

Saturday Is Caption Day 2/2/13

During our trip to Owcatraz this week our guide took us to see their KuneKune pig. The guide and the pig had an awesome relationship! So much so that he trusted her to take bread straight from his mouth! Eeeeek rather him than me!

Can you help me out with a caption please?

Hop on over to our Satcap leader to join in with more captioning fun @mammasaurus.

Five Friday Finds 1/2/13

I love Pinterest! I know a lot of fellow bloggers love Pinterest! BUT I also know a lot of folk are not on Pinterest and are therefore missing out on some neat stuff!

I've decided to try and share cool, funny, clever, interesting, useful or silly stuff each Friday for those of you who may be interested!

Here we go then week 1 ...

Cute idea, anatomically correct heart necklace! Cool gift for someone in the medical profession or just for someone who maybe doesn't like cutesy stuff!

Cute little baby butts ... (Sorry no link)

I would like to have organisation like this! Even if I had drawers like this everything would still be a mess! (Sorry no link)

I love the trend for chalk board stuff at the moment, some cool ideas on this website! It doesn't have to be boring old black chalkboard either...

A lovely idea to jazz up bobby pins/ Kirkby grips. Just use wire to attach pearl to the pin, simples! (Sorry no link)

Hmm sorry, bit of a fail for my first post, lack of links not ideal, little naive me thought all pins had links to the original posts! I will try to do better next time!
