Kapiti Island Today 27th November 2012

Kapiti Island Today 3.30pm ...

It's been a week since my last post, sorry folks! Time has been an issue!

Today's picture of Kapiti Island (as pointed out by my glamorous assistant, while I panicked that she would fall down the cliff that is behind the fence down onto the beach) is taken from Queen Elizabeth Park. I decided against the normal beach after last weeks excitement!

However it wouldn't be a normal trip for The Hound, The Cherubs and I if there wasn't any action/drama!

Rocko had his usual run in with another hound. Nothing new there then!

Maisie had a meltdown! (Don't ask, long day, tired, hot, hungry!)

I had a meltdown! (Don't ask, long day, tired, hot, hungry!)

I nearly slipped and fell ... several times! (Very hilly path, with gravel, and two heavy babies in a buggy! I never said it was a good idea but unfortunately the fecking dog needs walked!)

On the plus side we all had some fresh air, the dog stretched his legs, as did I, we got to see beautiful blue sky's, the sea and the stunning Kapiti Island!

So I suppose one mustn't grumble :)

Saturday Is Caption Day 3rd November 2012

****Whoop whoop**** It's the weekend. Thanks to my little sister getting a new job Saturdays are mine again! I loved my mornings working in Porirua East but no Aunty Katy to Cherub watch means no work for Notsosuperscottishmummy on Saturdays!
Never mind the fact that its raining for the first time this week. It's ok we have chilli to make, baking to do and salmon and brocolli pasta to make for Archie Boy! Not to mention playing, blogging and watching junk t.v.
Anyhoo back to the point! Caption photo....or er photos this week ...

Luckily it was a beautiful day on my day off! Nice enough for toggs, sun cream and outside water play! I captured these pictures through the living room window. I love it when The Hound and Maisie interact together! The Hound loves both Cherubs thankfully. Although I'm pretty sure his favourite thing is their smelliness!!!

Caption away folks!

Kapiti Island Today 30th October 2012

Kapiti Island today 10am ...

What a lush day. One month to go until summer and things are picking up.
I took The Cherubs and The Hound for a walk in Otaihanga along Waikanae River bank this morning. As you get towards the river mouth you get this awesome view of The Island. It was so peaceful, just us and the Whitebaiters!!!!!
Island fact for the day - Parts of the most recent King Kong movie were filmed on the other side of the island! Peter Jackson himself went to college (high school) here in Paraparaumu.

Kapiti Island Today 29th October 2012

Kapiti Island today 6.30pm ...

Our first trip to the beach after work this spring. We would probably have been earlier but The Hound has had poorly skin for the last month or so so we have been avoiding it seeing as he can't help but dive bomb into the sea as soon as he hits the beach, not the best tactic for healing a scabby skinned beast. BUT his skin is finally clearing and he finished his antibiotics after 3 weeks of antibiotic filled cheese balls twice a day we treated him to half an hour terrorising other hounds and hound walkers trying to enjoy a leisurely evening stroll. I had to set an alarm to remind me to give him his medication, sweet boy began to recognise the alarm and got so excited by his cheese balls he forgot to try and forage out the mess!

The idea of taking The Hound to the beach always seems like such a good idea, he gets to stretch his legs and run without his lead on and we all get fresh air and to stretch our own legs. I always forget how much of a stress it actually is (they don't call me Stress Head Simpson for nothing). I spend most of my time yelling after him terrified he is going to get eaten by a bigger dog or piss off a little dogs owner. He's got small dog syndrome and makes a beeline for the biggest dog he can find and torments it! To add to the stress I then get to yell at him to stay in his basket once we get home because he's soaking wet! No sooner has he raced along the beach for two minutes than he is tired out and lying down in the sea to cool down! MESSY GIT.

Regardless I still love him to bits, he's my first born. In fact the other day at the vet (bad parent alert) Lovely Hubby and I were discussing how cute he was when he was a baby and we both agreed that between him and The Cherubs he was definitely the cutest baby....

Saturday is Caption Day 20th October 2012

We had a cheeky wee holiday to Wellington last weekend ... First family holiday and we went 1 hour down the road! It may not seem adventurous but there is so much to do we had an awesome time.

Maisie's first sentence when we got home was ... 'I miss the Hotel mummy'. So cute, she was intrigued by her first hotel experience and behaved really well as did her brother.

We got loads of great pictures which I'll share over the next few weeks but I just love this one of her while she was playing at being mummy while her brother was in the bath ...

I think she is actually saying 'look at my baby he's splashing, aargh mummy he's splashing me mummy!!!'

I'm pretty sure that you lovely blog readers out there can put better words in her mouth.

I'm linking this up to the #SatCap Queen over at Mammasaurus.

Meal Planning Monday 27th August 2012

Some weeks meal planning is really simple but I stupidly asked for input form Lovely Hubby and Lil' Sis. I wish I hadn't! Lil' Sis just wanted the same things as last week! And everything I mentioned Lovely Hubby stuck his nose up. So I went in a strop and rather childishly proclaimed 'f@&k you both you can do the fecking meal planning'. Needless to say they didn't so I did it myself and didn't ask for their input. They'll eat what they are given!

Maaaaan I sound like my mother ha ha ha!

I am increasing my work load as of this week so I have tried to keep things as simple as possible! Things might get a bit repetitive but needs must!

Sunday - We spent the day in Wellington so we treated ourselves and The Cherubs to dinner out. We went to a cute little pizza place called One Red Dog. It was great. We don't go out much so I was nervous about asking them to heat Archie's milk and purée but they were so cool about it. I just remember when I asked in the U.K for people to do the same for Maisie some people were so awkward about it. As well as great service the food was great.  I had mussels to start and calzone for main. Yum yum!

Monday - Thai Green Prawn Curry with rice and broccoli. First day working in a new place and working till 6pm so need it to be simple.

Tuesday - Grilled chicken, roast potatoes and curried mushrooms. I know we had that last week but it is so good and easy. And we all love it.

Wednesday - Sweet Potato Curry. A veggie curry my chum from Mummysknee blogged about as a guest blog for At Home With Mrs M? It looks like just my cup of tea or perhaps I should say just my bowl of curry! I do however think I will need to add some kind of meat to keep Lovely Hubby happy.

Thursday - Good old meal planning regular ... pasta with creamy garlic and pesto sauce, bacon and some kind of veg.

Friday - Not sure about today, will rustle something up with what we have.

Saturday - Cherry Tomato Pasta, a Gino D'Acampo recipe I believe. It's been a while since we have had it but I'll give it a whirl.

Whats on the menu with you guys?

Check out some more meal plans over at At Home with Mrs M.

Make a Plan Monday 18th June 2012

Review Week 4

Last week was a much better week. I have a feeling, in fact I am sensing a pattern in my life, not sure why but I think I am going to have 2 good weeks, get all smug and be pleased with how I am going then let it all go the 3rd week, do a shit job then have to get motivated again. So on and so forth...

I wasn't angelic last week but The Cherubs and I kept busy and I stuck to my steps. Granted I didn't get up and organized every morning but on the mornings I didn't I had busy house days. When I was exposing myself to the public during the day though I got showered, dressed and make up on, best not scare the locals now!
