I could do a gushy post about how lucky I am to have two lovely Cherubs, a faithful Hound and a Lovely Hubby who treats me like a princess (don't get me wrong I am cheerful about all of the above of course) but after a day like today there is only one reason to be cheerful.
Maybe when I have lured you in with my 'hilarious' posts and have a few more readers I can do a serious R2BC post. (on how having so many people reading my blog and enjoying it is my R2BC)
I digress back to my real life reason to be cheerful today.
After having four days of perfect little Cherubs (perfect to a point, there has been moments of wickedness but wickedness that's down to being tired and we all know how that feels). In fact they were being so good that I even stupidly thought to myself on a couple of occasions 'wah hay think I may have cracked this mummy malarkey' but all that did was tempt fate and lead to the hideous day that was today. There has been worse days but today was particularly rubbish.
I should have really known it would be hideous. Darling Daughter slept in till 8am. You would think that would be a good thing but for some reason lie-ins are not good for her, almost like she has overslept and it just leads to a grumpy, ratty mess of a day!
Anywho, like I say both Cherubs have had a great week so far but today they both spent most of the day moaning. I can cope with a day of one of them moaning all day but come on now, both is just ridiculous. It was almost like there was a secret competition between them, who can moan the loudest and longest! Trust me dear Cherubs this is a hateful game please desist!
Thankfully though I was able to keep Darling Daughter happy with someone I am sure has helped many a mummy out there.
Yep people this week my reason to be cheerful is.....*fan fare please*.....*drum roll if you prefer*.......
It was only last night that I said to Lovely Hubby 'not had the T.V on all week for the bairns, aren't I a clever mummy' (we take every opportunity to speak Scottish when we are in our own four walls hence the use of the word bairns, Scottish for children) (joke!).
Thank god for Peppa Pig. Personally I can't stand the pig, she is a naughty, cheeky little pig. Probably not a good example to Darling Daughter. The reason why we all have piggy names, Daddy Pig, Mummy Pig, Maisie's Pig, Archie Pig and Rocko Pig! And the reason why we have a really annoying piggy theme tune in our heads more often than not.
Today though all is forgiven Peppa Pig. When Darling Daughter asked to watch Peppa I said yes immediately, normally I would try to find something else to entertain her and succeed but today I didn't even try! As a good friend only just said yesterday, choose your battles!!! Wise words!
Roll on the day when Second Born Son can be placated with a bit of Peppa love!
OOOOOIIIIIINNNNK!!!! Do do do dodo do dodo do do do dodo (an attempt at the Peppa Pig theme tune).

Mums use whatever weapons they have in their armoury and telly sometimes is a very powerful one indeed.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the PiggyBank Kids charity competition all about photos of pigs. Might be worth a go if you are so pig-orientated.
Nice to meet you
Thanks for commenting a d nice to meet you too.
DeleteOoh will have a look at the Piggy Pics.
I took harbour a dislike for Peppa Pig after being forced by my nephews to watch what felt like days worth of episodes over the last couple of years. I'm glad it could come to your help, though. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear boys like her too, the 5 DVD s we have will come in handy for e boy too :)
DeletePeppa Pig makes a great babysitter sometimes!!
ReplyDeleteShe sure does, Dora, The Gruffalo, And Woody are good too :)
DeleteI've survived 24 years of parenting thanks to the joys of TV. If Peppa Pig works...use it! x
ReplyDeleteYep dear Peppa comes in handy in other areas too, she refuses to wear her coat but put Peppa on it and she can't get it on quick enough. Not as queer as folk, scratch that, not as queer as kids :)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh Peppa is a cheeky mare and we also have Pig nicknames in the household, don't get me started on the muddy puddles . . .
ReplyDeleteBUT
in her defense she is absolutely great at getting kids to keep still for 15mins when you're at your wits end!!
yep she is a menace, I heard or read somewhere that there was a load of complaints about how much of a bad influence she was on those that watch her. But as you say she has her uses!!
DeleteIsn't it amazing how much our kiddies just love Peppa Pig...can't see it myself! Even my 12 year old has been known to take a sneaky peek when noone's looking lol!
ReplyDeleteyeah its crazy the things they latch onto, funny wee folk the kiddlies in our life
DeleteHello - Just popping over from R2BC - you can always count on Peppa! Always good to have a back up plan.
ReplyDeleteooh thanks for popping over. Yep as long as I don't have to watch long live Peppa :)
DeleteFireman Sam, Pob, Rugrats, all Disney films.......to name but a few kept the three of you amused over the years. TV has it's uses as far as keeping kids amused goes, not all the time but use it when you need it. Granny pants
ReplyDeleteTV..a great back up childminder. There have been days when I have thought thank goodness for TV. (Mother guilt aside.) Peppa Pig/ Ben and Holly/ Mickey Mouse..I thank them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment and twitter follow plum. Yeah wish I had sky somedays. At the mo our kiwi DVD player is bust so that limits tv but is a bummer when required!!
DeletePeppa is indeed a R2BC, my twinnies love her! Mich x
